Vendulka and Luk\u00e1\u0161 are united in love. Smetana\u2019s rural opera The Kiss portrays their pride, stubbornness, quarrels and misunderstandings that separate them for a brief time. It depicts both comic and touching scenes from village life, and concludes with a reconciliation and confirmation of the couple’s love by a kiss. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
As part of the Smetana Litomy\u0161l Opera Incubator project, The Kiss<\/em> is transformed into a compelling experience in which gifted singers on the thresholds of their operatic careers are given an opportunity to perform.
