A comic opera in the form of a singspiel to a libretto by Friedrich Wilhelm Gotter Der Dorfjahrmarkt faithfully captures the environment of a village fair with a number of typical figures.

Take advantage of free transport to Nové Hrady and back

In the days 18.-22. 6. the festival bus departs from the monument of B. Smetana on Smetana Square. You do not need to reserve a seat on the bus in advance, just present a valid ticket upon boarding.

The experience evening includes a buffet from Mrs. Kučerová’s kitchen.

The organizers would like to thank Magda and Petr Kučera, the owners of the castle, for the free loan of the premises and their selfless help.

In case of bad weather...
In case of rain we move the show to the castle granary. It is less than 100 metres from the amphitheatre.
Disabled
Unfortunately, discounts for disabled cannot be applied. During the Night in Nové Hrady, visitors move around the castle building on the staircases and in the castle garden on the grass and unpaved paths. For this reason, we are unable to offer wheelchair accessible seats for the show. When moving the show to the castle granary, it is necessary to climb the relatively steep historic stairs to the fourth floor.
How is the evening going?
In a certain exaggeration we could say that the Kučeras, the owners of the castle, invite you to their home for a baroque party. After a personal welcome, it includes a home-cooked feast prepared by Mrs. Kučera (not only from the family’s deer breeding), a tour of the castle household, and free wandering around the castle grounds where short performances are prepared at various spots. The opera performance then culminates the entire experiential evening.
Transport to Nové Hrady
In case of transport by car, visitors can park in the car park directly in front of the castle. If you choose to be transported by the festival bus, it will pick you up at the monument to Bedřich Smetana on Smetana Square in Litomyšl at 7 pm. You must present your ticket to the show upon entry. (The same bus will take you back to Litomyšl after the show.)
