Passion as the inner force of survival
For the first time, one of Europe’s most acclaimed chamber orchestras – Kremerata Baltica – takes the
stage at Smetana Litomyšl. Founded by the legendary violinist Gidon Kremer, the Grammy-winning
ensemble appears under the baton of the exceptional Lithuanian conductor Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla.
The program features emotionally charged works of the 20th century – from the lyrical and passionate
music of Mieczysław Weinberg to the dramatic Symphony No. 14 by Dmitri Shostakovich, a powerful
appeal for truthful life, love, and freedom.
