We are opening the 67th edition of the Smetana Litomyšl National Festival. And we are opening it for everyone! Join us in the Festival Gardens for an informal festival kickoff, where we will introduce you to various genres, colors, and flavors of this year’s edition.

The Duncan Centre Dance Conservatory brings an unexpected connection between old music and new dance to the gardens. A pioneering institution in teaching contemporary dance in the Czech Republic, it has prepared a tailor-made choreography with its students for the festival opening.
In doing so, it joined forces with another leading artistic educator in our country – the Prague Conservatory. The latter is sending its baroque orchestra with conductor Jakub Kydlíček to the Opening.
The third participant in the informal event will be the singer and actress Rozálie Havelková, whose concert will subsequently resound throughout the city.
