The first half of this outstanding concert will be dedicated to the works of three composers who were born at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, and whose destinies and work were stigmatised by Jewish origin. The evening will culminate with Tchaikovsky’s masterly 5th Symphony, which is primarily a celebration of the victory of man and humanity in general.
“Music is not an illusion – this is clear. And its victorious strength lies in the fact that it reveals a beauty that we cannot find in any other sphere, and which reconciles us to life.”
