A comic opera by Bedřich Smetana to a libretto by Karel Sabina in its ultimate version in three acts from 1870. Performed in the Czech original, with English and Czech surtitles

“The Ostrava production narrates the classical national opera without violent interventions in the plot and environment. Without the intention of distorting or trivializing the main axis of the story. It only came up with an emphatic accent on the visual side, frolics and an action-choreographed solution to long instrumental interludes. That there is also a humorous satire of certain characteristics and a mocking deconstruction of national mantras? Artistic collages of Dada style? I think Smetana would be the first to laugh at it and to like such a concept.”
