Young dancers of the Bavarian Junior Ballet Munich present a project in which the music of Johann Sebastian Bach and Gustav Mahler meets contemporary dance. On the stage of the second castle courtyard, audiences will experience Bach’s Orchestral Suite No. 3 choreographed by John Neumeier, Mahler’s cycle Songs of a Wayfarer choreographed by Jiří Kylián, and the more recent work In the Forest with music by French composer Camille Pépin, choreographed by Xin Peng Wang. Marco Goecke’s Devil’s Kitchen, which concludes the evening, is based on the music of the legendary band Pink Floyd. To their almost hypnotic rock sound, Goecke adds a language of movement through which the energy of the dance company interacts with songs such as Wish You Were Here or Dogs.
