MENDEL MEGAKING, or When a Pea Starts Singing, is a family opera set in a primary school, connecting the world of eighth-graders Adam and Eve to the world of Gregor Mendel, the founder of genetics. Here, Mendel appears in the form of the school caretaker Jandl, marveling at the laws of genetics and of life itself.
The opera is created in collaboration with the Znojmo Music Festival and is prepared by students and graduates of the Janáček Academy of Performing Arts.ding musical and theatrical experience.
