Bedřich Smetana’s My Country is a magical piece of music. Many of us are deeply touched with its beauty and may even feel a sense of national pride when we hear the first notes. Don’t you recognize Vltava? For a native of this country, that is impossible. You may remember the first time you heard this musical gem. At school? On the radio? In the car? At a concert? Probably not in a theater, because in the theater – as we found out – no one has ever presented the work in its entirety. Several creative personalities will work together on the performance of My Country (Má vlast). Where will their collaboration take them, and what unique moments will each of them experience individually on their journey through this exquisite musical narrative?
