Prepare for performances with a speaker’s pre-concert talk!

You’ll experience performances completely differently when you’re brimming with information. Pre-concert talks are held before most of the “big” performances; the program and information on the ticket indicate when these will take place. They’re always held in the Castle Riding Hall 60 minutes before the beginning of the concert and last 30 minutes. Entrance is free for the concert’s ticket holders. The festival’s artistic director, Vojtěch Stříteský, will introduce guest speakers – musical experts and publicists as well as artists, conductors, directors, and soloists. Visitors obtain information about the pieces to be presented, their composers, how they’ve been interpreted, circumstances around mounting the production, directorial goals, and sometimes even tidbits about backstage preparations. Personally meeting creators and performers can be a potent experience in and of itself.

In 2023 the ouvertures are held in St. Anne’s Church nearby the Festival hall for the obvious reasons.
